New appeal to the court for the murder case of Pierina Paganelli

Court in court for the Pierina Paganelli case

The defense of Senegalese Louis Dassilva presents a new appeal against the order of the investigating judge.

The Pierina Paganelli Case: A Murder That Rocks the Community

The murder of Pierina Paganelli, which took place in the garage of her home, continues to hold public attention. The 78-year-old was brutally killed with 29 stab wounds, a crime that has deeply shocked the local community. Today, the defense of Louis Dassilva, the Senegalese accused of the murder, announced a new appeal to the Review Court against the second order of the investigating judge Vinicio Cantarini.

Lawyers Riario Fabbri and Andrea Guidi argue that there is not enough evidence to prove that Dassilva was in the garage when the body was found.

The stages of the process and the daughter-in-law's statements

The case has had a complex process, with several hearings already held. The first was held on September 9 of last year, when the Review Court confirmed the first order of the GIP. Subsequently, the Supreme Court referred the case back to the Review Court, which set a hearing for April 17. During this period, a new element emerged: the story of Pierina's daughter-in-law, Manuela Bianchi, who was investigated for personal aiding and abetting. Her statements, provided in an evidentiary incident that lasted three days, led to a new order by the GIP Cantarini, who confirmed the prison sentence for Dassilva.

The defense strategy and the new evidence

Dassilva's defense is preparing to challenge Manuela Bianchi's statements, arguing that there is no objective evidence to prove her client's presence in the garage at the time of the crime. Attorney Guidi stated: "We will argue that there is no objective evidence to say that Dassilva was in that garage on the morning of the discovery." The defense's strategy aims to dismantle the logic on which the GIP's order is based, highlighting the contradictions in the testimonies and the absence of concrete evidence.

The Pierina Paganelli case continues to evolve, with Dassilva's defense seeking justice for their client, while the community anxiously awaits the outcome of this new appeal. The next hearing at the Review Court promises to be crucial for the future of the case and the lives of all involved.
